Dr. Steve Bowersox
Steve Bowersox has extensive experience as a pastor, worship leader, professor, professional musician, and business leader. Prior to coming to Dauphin Way, Steve served as Executive Pastor of Worship at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL, one of the largest churches in the Southern Baptist Convention. He was producer of the Jacksonville Passion Play for four years, and produced five Christmas Spectaculars.
With Prism Music, he co-produced with Bradley Knight the albums “Still the King” and “Let the Rocks Keep Silent!” He is the founding executive director of Integrity Music’s Worship International and Seminars for Worship, and was the worship leader at Christ the Redeemer Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, for over 16 years. He holds degrees in music, education, business and ministry; has experience as a producer, arranger, worship leader, studio and touring musician; and has developed training materials used nationwide. Bowersox is proficient in vocals, choral, wind instruments, guitar, bass, electronic keyboards and MIDI, and has performed at national venues including the National Day of Prayer and with prominent musicians such as Paul Baloche, Sandi Patty, Dolly Parton and Barbara Mandrell, among many others.
Bowersox has been an instructor and musician with the Seminars 4 Worship conferences, Integrity’s Institution of Worship Studies, Maranatha! Worship Leaders workshops and Lillenas Music conferences.
He earned three bachelor’s degrees in four years from Heidelberg University: Bachelor of Music in music education, Bachelor of Arts in music performance, and Bachelor of Business Administration. He holds a Master of Music Education with emphasis in choral and conducting from University of North Texas, and a Doctor of Christian Philosophy from Logos College.
He is recognized as one of the pioneers and leaders for technology and training in the church. His humor, mixed with excellent inspirational teaching, will minister to your spirit, refresh your mind, and motivate you to stir up your gifts. He travels around the world teaching leadership, musical excellence, and worship as a life style. Steve is happily married to his partner in ministry, Barbie, and they have 7 children with 2 sets of twins.
